If I had a nickel for every time someone said, "Wow! You lived in New Zealand? What's it like?" -- I'd be a rich man. Very rich. Truth is, I'd be broke for every time I said, "That's a tough question to answer." It is. Damn tough.
To answer that is like answering the question, "What's it like to live in the USA." How would you answer THAT question? Exactly. Tough, eh?
Tell me what you want to know about. The women? The sport? The food? The nature? Lord of the Rings? Street fighting? Living in a culture without guns? Living with cops with no guns -- or tasers -- or billy clubs? Living in a culture with no flirting and no dating? Living in Christchurch -- at the base of a volcano? The All Black rugby team? Or the fact that this predominantly white country has most of its national teams with "black" in the name -- softball? Black Sox. Hockey? Black Sticks. America's Cup (sailing): The Black boat. And on and on. They even have those who want to mimic things from the USA, like the KKK
Really, if you want to talk New Zealand, it is way, way more than a "what's it like" question. More to the point, "What is the Food like?" What are the women like -- and why do they love men from the USA?" Those are far more interesting questions. And I'm about to answer them. In due time...
